No one person deserves the horrors they are thrown into when they are vulnerable and defenseless. Unfortunately, in many cases, they are those people who have been abused as well. Despair and often cruelty is passed on from one person to another like a virus. It\u2019s extremely difficult to remain sane in a situation like that. Being abandoned and in a hopeless place deepen the pit we find ourselves in against our will. The hands that can nothing to hold on to, that can\u2019t find a way out of an excruciating situation are weakening. From time to time, we find ourselves in situations where we feel we have lost control of our lives, where we can\u2019t break out of a difficult, torturous situation, and where we feel unable to change.
\nOccasionally, what helps though is when a person is surrendering him\/herself to the situation, stops fighting, accepts what fate has forced him\/her into. Perhaps this surrender is what is needed to regain control, even if it\u2019s only illusory.
