Time is timeless, it happens all at once or repeats itself. Macbeth, on his way home after his victorious battle, will soon meet the three witches. The Boys Don’t Cry is a story about the moments when there is still a chance to change fate, when witch queens and flesh and blood men could have chosen peace.
This scene was written in March 2022, a few weeks after the outbreak of the Ukrainian-Russian war. The war had infiltrated every thought.
